Who ever said that boat problems are simple to solve, never had a boat!! The port side tank had a leak around the inspection cover, mainly around the threaed nut and bolts, so it was deceided to removed the existing cover and reinstall the plate....bad move.
From that point on, there had been a number of steps taken to resolve the leaking tank, at one point there was more epoxy around the flange, that most boats have in the entire hull :)..
Finally a plastic flange/cover was ordered, and installed...no luck, still leaking. OK what next, the magic 5200, that will solve everything. So it was that a whole tube was used, let it set for two days, reloaded the tank.......leaks, what next. Ok drill new holes in the tank and set new self taping screws along with 5200 to secure the flange, did you know that you never have a drill bit that will penetrate the stainless steel tank, now we have to get a drill bit brought in by Tina. It was again time to take charge of the tank, with new drill bit in hand, new holes drilled, 5200 applied liberally to the flange, it was reinstalled. We waited two days for a "proper cure", and filled the tank with H2O, alas a minor drip, more 5200 EUREKA..no more leaks.
What will be next..............?????
