0700 hrs, depart Clinton Hbr, clear and sunny skies. Winds NW 10-15
gusting to 25, seas 1-2, but later it built 3-6, oh ya 2 sec apart . Banging and crashing into
the seas, 2000 rpm and still making 7.5 to 8.5 kts. After At 1100 hrs, we were off
Straford Conn. and still 54 miles to go. Decision time hard right to Startford Hbr.
On the beam for about 1/2 hrs, but got in the well marked channel.
Looked around the Hbr trying to deciede where to go, then we picked up a
mooring ball in front of the Housatonic Boat Club. It belongs to a memeber who is
out of the water, the boat club stewart came out and was very nice.
Offered to move us to another ball in case there was a problem with this one
many tks all around. very strong current here, mainly from the Housatonic River.
Here we stay overnight, and hope to set off again tomorrow morning.
