westport a view point by Lane

Well as everyone knows we are still here, and as being stuck in one place, this is a grand place to be. Well protected, giving false hope that all is well on the outside, which of course its not. Looks like tuesday to leave, with the winds and seas dying down. We have found this site given to us by friends Dale and Jim, (Jim being the man), of another NS boat travelling in the same direction. Here is the blog site for them:

At some point we hope to meet fellow Nova Scotians, especially so close to our home port, they are from Lunenburg.
As we feasted last night on Lobsters and all the fixings, I thought that this was a perfect setting to wait out the weather. We have been "wined and dined"on numerous occasions by John Doylan and his lovely lady Lisa, and not to leave out FL Tripp and Sons boat yard, where Harry Tripp has been more than generous to us, I need not say more on that.
Today I am 59 years old, and for the most part still healthy and going strong.I do miss my Tina very much, and this is the only downside to the trip, other issues come and go. I was silently hoping to be in NY for my birthday, but that was not to be,but I will be there this week.
Great people here at  Westport Marina, what else can I say.
I pray that out next posting will be much more interesting reading.

  4. From Al and Michele. Happy birthday Lane! Hope the weather is good enough to get going. A lot of the time its not so bad when you get underway. Travel on LI Sound is usually either into the chop or running. Regardless pay attention to the currents and time your run between Execution Rock and Sandy Hook to go with the current. All the best to you both.
